As you might have read in the Information on the website - I felt that while many people were taking action to be green, to conserve, and to create better communities - there was no easy way to show how wide spread these actions and aims were.
So the aim of this map project is to let people "flag" their homes with their actions.
I hope that teachers will find this a useful tool too. I can see it being used to teach kids about geography and map skills and as a focal point for discussing climate change, conservation and issues like organic foods, farmers markets, compost and that favorite - worms.
I live in Melbourne and I have centered the map over Australia - but if you read this from other countries - email me - I would happily add sites to suit your country or region.
Regards to all you how are working hard for a better world. Tom Danby
